The City of North Charleston is set to unveil its latest investment in recreational infrastructure with the grand opening of the North Charleston Sports Complex on Thursday, March 28, 2024. The complex, located at 1455 Monitor Street, boasts a range of modern amenities tailored to cater to the diverse needs of the community.

Mayor Reggie Burgess expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its significance in enhancing the well-being of residents. He stated, “The North Charleston Sports Complex is a testament to our enduring commitment to community and wellness. Built for our residents, this facility underscores our dedication to enriching lives through comprehensive recreational opportunities. It signifies our ongoing effort to ensure that North Charleston remains a place where community and health go hand in hand.”

The facility features a 25-meter competitive pool, a state-of-the-art gymnasium, five tennis courts meeting United States Tennis Association standards, a roller rink, and a multi-purpose field tailored to support city athletics. The project represents a substantial investment in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among North Charleston residents.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 28, the North Charleston Sports Complex will be open for tours until 7:00 pm. While indoor activities will not be available on the opening day, the outdoor tennis courts and roller rink will be accessible to the public.

Starting from March 29 to 31, the tennis courts and roller rink will be open to the public, with the entire facility set to open its doors on April 1st. The complex will operate during the following hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Sunday: Closed. The North Charleston Sports Complex aims to be a hub where the community can come together and prioritize their health and well-being.
