Annual Turkey Day Run prompts road closures in Charleston

The City of Charleston has announced road closures for the annual Turkey Day Run, which will take place on Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2025. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the race beginning at Marion Square and proceeding south on Meeting Street toward White Point Gardens. Runners will then continue through the South of Broad neighborhood to King Street before returning to Marion Square.

The race route will be closed to traffic starting at 8:45 a.m. until the event concludes. According to city officials, vehicle access to businesses and residences along the route will be restricted during this period. Officers will be present along the course to help manage traffic flow and provide neighborhood access.

Key times for participants include race day registration and packet pickup at 7:00 a.m., followed by the start of the main race at 9:00 a.m. An awards ceremony is set for 9:45 a.m. in Marion Square, with a Children’s Fun Run beginning at 10:00 a.m. The event is expected to conclude by noon.
