The College of Charleston beach volleyball team concluded its regular season on April 12, falling to both the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) and Coastal Carolina during matches in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The end of the regular season marks a key point for the Cougars as they now await their placement in the upcoming Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Foley, Alabama from April 23-25.

In their first meeting against UNCW over the weekend, Charleston narrowly lost with a score of 3-2. Ella Duffner and Alivia Newberg secured a win on court three for Charleston, while Sophie Sageer and Madison Loving earned another victory on court four. Despite these wins, UNCW ultimately took the match.

Charleston faced tougher results against Coastal Carolina, dropping both encounters by scores of 5-0. In these matches, various pairs from Coastal Carolina claimed victories across all five courts against Charleston’s teams. Similarly, subsequent matches with UNCW resulted in a 5-0 loss for Charleston.

With the conclusion of regular play, attention now turns to postseason competition as Charleston prepares for its draw in the Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship later this month.
