Charleston Cougars lose opener at I-75 Tournament against Georgia Tech

The College of Charleston softball team lost 16-0 to Georgia Tech in five innings on Thursday, February 19, during the opening game of the I-75 Tournament in Atlanta.

Leela Langston began the game with a single to right field. She then stole second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch. In the third inning, Julia Sitterding also singled and stole second base, but the Cougars were unable to score with runners in position.

Langston, Sitterding, and Abby Driscoll each contributed one hit for Charleston. Pitchers Mackenzie Mathis and Jules Raymond both recorded one strikeout against Georgia Tech batters.

Charleston will continue play in Atlanta on Friday, February 20, facing Purdue at 11 a.m. before another matchup against Georgia Tech at 4 p.m. The I-75 Tournament requires tickets for entry.
