The City of Charleston, in collaboration with the Small Business Administration (SBA), is organizing a virtual workshop titled “Are You Ready to Borrow?” The event is set for Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This free session aims to provide small business owners with crucial information on accessing capital effectively.

Participants will receive guidance on navigating the borrowing process and preparing for discussions with financial institutions. The workshop also serves as preparation for the Lender Matchmaking Event scheduled for August 8, 2025. This future event will allow business owners to connect directly with potential lenders.

The workshop will cover topics such as organizing financial documents, understanding various types of business loans, and presenting a compelling case to lenders. Attendees will learn what lenders seek and how to enhance their loan applications.

Interested individuals can register or find more information by visiting the Small Business Workshops page at https://www.charleston-sc.gov/2489/Small-Business-Workshops. For additional inquiries, Sarita Blackshear, Business Services Manager, can be contacted at blackshearS@charleston-sc.gov.
