The Charleston Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit has arrested a local man in connection with illegal drug distribution. The investigation, which began several months ago, focused on Leon Horlbeck-Campbell, 27, of Charleston. Authorities allege that Horlbeck-Campbell was selling drugs in downtown Charleston.
On January 21, 2026, detectives executed a search warrant at an apartment in the MAA Westchase Apartments complex on Westchase Drive. During the search, police arrested Horlbeck-Campbell and seized cocaine, cocaine base, marijuana, and several thousand dollars in cash.
As a result of the operation, Horlbeck-Campbell faces five counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of trafficking cocaine base, and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. At the time of his arrest, he was under supervision by South Carolina Probation, Parole and Pardon Services for a previous drug offense. He is currently being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
