Charleston Police arrest suspect in Shadowmoss Golf Club vandalism case

On January 12, 2026, Charleston Police responded to a report of vandalism at the Shadowmoss Golf and Country Club in West Ashley. According to club managers, a person driving a pickup truck entered the course after hours and damaged several fairways and greens by performing “donuts.” The estimated cost of the damage is about $40,000.

After an investigation, detectives identified the driver as Gavin Alsbrook Cole, a 19-year-old from Ravenel. Cole was arrested on January 20, 2026. He faces charges of malicious injury to real property valued at $10,000 or more. He is currently being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
