The Charleston Police Department arrested Jacob Andreas Steer, age 19, following a homicide that took place near Ashley Hall Road and North Woodmere Drive on April 24 at approximately 6:50 p.m. Officers responded to the scene around 9 p.m., where they found the victim deceased near a pond with multiple gunshot wounds.
Steer was located at his residence and taken into custody on April 25. He has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Detectives said that Steer and the victim knew each other, and that an argument between them led to the shooting.
