The Charleston Police Department is investigating a fatal incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred on the morning of December 15, 2025. The collision took place around 8:30 a.m. on King Street near Mt. Pleasant Street.
According to police, a car was leaving the parking lot at 1227 King Street when it struck an adult pedestrian who was crossing the driveway from the sidewalk. The pedestrian died at the scene.
Police have interviewed the driver involved in the collision and are continuing their investigation into what happened. “This incident marks the twelfth fatal traffic-related collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department this year.”
