Charleston Police investigate fatal shooting after Clements Ferry Road collision

Charleston Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Clements Ferry Road on the morning of January 14, 2026. Officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a power pole, located about half a mile from Cainhoy Road.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle off the roadway with both the driver and passenger inside. According to investigators, evidence suggests that the driver was shot while inside the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Detectives are continuing their investigation into how the incident unfolded and are working to establish all details surrounding the case.
