Charleston Police investigate fatal single-vehicle crash on Clements Ferry Road

The Charleston Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred shortly before midnight on November 23, 2025, on Clements Ferry Road. According to authorities, a pickup truck left the roadway near Klister Lane and ended up in a nearby pond. Emergency responders found the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, dead inside.

Clements Ferry Road was closed to southbound traffic until approximately 4 a.m. as investigators worked at the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact their Traffic Unit at (843) 965-4084 or submit tips anonymously online at www.charleston-sc.gov/tips.

“This incident marks the tenth fatal traffic-related collision investigated by the Charleston Police Department this year,” police stated in their release.

So far this year, there has been one multi-vehicle fatality, five auto-pedestrian fatalities, and four single-vehicle fatalities investigated by Charleston Police.

The investigation into this latest incident is ongoing.
