Officers responded to reports of gunfire on Tripe Street at around 12:30 a.m. on January 10, 2026, where they found a car in the roadway with a deceased victim inside. The victim had been shot multiple times.
According to detectives, initial findings suggest the victim was specifically targeted and there is no indication that this was a random act of violence. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim when appropriate.
