The City of Charleston has announced that the Holy City Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025. The event is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. in downtown Charleston.
According to city officials, the parade will include musical ensembles, clubs, organizations, and community groups. Performers for the event include Rev. Randolph Miller, Javetta Campbell, Timothy Campbell, Mario Desaussure, and the Jason Singleton Youth Ensemble.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony is set to take place in Marion Square following the parade. It will feature musical performances and seasonal readings. Mayor Cogswell and Rob Fowler of Channel 2 are expected to lead a countdown before lighting the tree.
The parade route starts on Broad Street at Rutledge Avenue, moves north along Meeting Street, and ends at Calhoun Street at Meeting Street. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the tree being lit at 6:00 p.m.
“We hope to see you all there for an afternoon of holiday spirit and community celebration!” said city organizers.
