The City of Charleston is organizing a public meeting to discuss the proposed development of new city office buildings at 1660 and 1662 Ingram Road in West Ashley. The meeting aims to provide residents with preliminary information about the project and collect feedback on design and community needs. Attendees will have the opportunity to review initial concepts, ask questions, and share their input.

The event is scheduled for Monday, August 25, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Founders Hall, located at 1500 Old Towne Rd., Charleston, SC 29407. Participation is free, but the city encourages attendees to register in advance through Eventbrite.

West Ashley is recognized as Charleston’s largest residential area. The plan to locate new administrative offices there seeks to bring municipal services closer to local residents and reduce commuting for many city employees who live in West Ashley. The facility is expected to house key departments and serve the community over the long term.

Projects within the West Ashley tax increment financing (TIF) district—including this office site—are subject to staff-level design review. To support broad public engagement, the city is hosting this meeting and plans additional opportunities for community feedback as planning continues.

For those unable to attend in person, meeting materials will be distributed via email to individuals who register through Eventbrite.
