College of Charleston’s softball team concluded the I-75 Tournament in Atlanta with two losses, falling to Yale 7-3 and Purdue 8-6. These results bring the Cougars’ season record to 7-9.

In the game against Purdue, Charleston trailed 3-0 before Leela Langston and Hailey Seymour scored on consecutive errors in the fourth inning. Purdue extended its lead by scoring four runs in the fifth, but Langston singled to right center, allowing Bronwyn Conroy to score from second base. The Cougars added three more runs in the seventh inning through Abby Driscoll, Austy Miller, and Conroy but were unable to complete a comeback.

Facing Yale, Charleston gave up an early home run but quickly responded as Conroy scored after Langston’s at bat. Miller recorded her second run of the day in the third inning, making it 3-2. In the fifth, Conroy tied the game again on an RBI groundout by Miller. Yale then added four more runs across later innings to secure a 7-3 victory.

Conroy contributed four runs and three hits over both games. Jules Raymond pitched for 4.1 innings on Saturday, while Langston drove in four combined RBIs against Yale and Purdue.

Charleston will next play at home with a three-game series against Georgia State starting Friday, February 27 at Patriots Point. The opening game will feature a Rally for the Season promotion.
