Charleston lost the first game of its series against Towson by a score of 5-4 on April 30.

The close loss puts Charleston at an overall record of 25-27 and a conference record of 13-9. The outcome is important as it affects Charleston’s standing heading into the final games of the regular season.

Charleston started strong, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Bronwyn Conroy scored on an Austy Miller groundout. In the second inning, Charleston loaded the bases with two hits but did not score. Towson tied the game in their half of that inning.

Savannah Scott helped regain Charleston’s lead in the third by singling and scoring, while Leela Langston added an RBI single in the fourth.
