Charleston’s softball team is set to play two away games this week, facing Wofford on Tuesday, March 3 in Spartanburg and Clemson on Wednesday, March 4 in Clemson. Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Cougars currently hold an 8-11 record for the 2026 season after a weekend series against Georgia State, where they won one out of three games. Their victory came on Saturday, February 28 with an 11-10 win.
Freshman Bronwyn Conroy contributed significantly to the win by going three-for-three at bat, scoring three runs and recording three RBIs. She also hit her first triple of the season and added another stolen base to her total, bringing her team-leading count to 17. Conroy enters Tuesday’s game with a .431 batting average and 28 hits.
Pitcher Mackenzie Mathis is second in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with 43 strikeouts over 51.1 innings pitched this season. During the recent series against Georgia State, Mathis threw six innings, allowing only one run and striking out six batters.
Freshman Erin McDaid achieved her first career strikeout during the same game and pitched two innings.
Charleston has played Wofford once before in program history, losing at home in 2024 by a score of 6-1. The upcoming matchup against Clemson will be their first meeting.
The Cougars aim to secure their first road win before returning home for conference play starting Friday, March 7 against Monmouth.
Tuesday’s game will be available for streaming on ESPN+ and Wednesday’s contest can be viewed on ACCN; tickets for Wednesday’s game are also available online.
