Charleston Southern University has announced the addition of Braelynn Brewington to its women’s volleyball roster for the 2026 season. Brewington, a transfer from Spartanburg Methodist College and native of Georgetown, South Carolina, will join the Buccaneers as a utility player.
During her two years at Spartanburg Methodist, Brewington made a significant impact on the court. In 2025, she was named to the Second-Team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) and ranked fourth in the conference with a .308 attacking percentage. She played in 30 matches and 104 sets that season, recording 191 kills and 72 total blocks while holding the second-highest attacking percentage on her team.
In the previous year, Brewington appeared in 31 matches (83 sets), tallying 80 kills and 42 blocks. Off the court, she earned recognition on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for academic achievement during Fall 2024.
Brewington attended Georgetown High School before college, where she was selected for the All-Region 5-AAA Team and twice received her school’s Best Offensive Player Award. She also became Georgetown High’s first student-athlete to sign to play collegiate volleyball and competed with Grand Strand Juniors Club Team.
Her family has ties to Charleston Southern; her older sister Brooklynn played softball for three years at CSU and was named to the Big South Conference First-Team in 2021.
Head Coach Carry Brown commented on Brewington joining the program:
“Braelynn is a great athlete, and I’m excited to add her to our program. She brings a lot of positives to our campus both on and off the court, and I’m excited to get her on campus to help continue her development both as a student and volleyball player.”
