Charleston Southern University announced that two of its women’s track and field athletes have received weekly honors from the Big South Conference to start 2026. Maeva Tahou was named Track Athlete of the Week, while Katelyn Grate earned Freshman of the Week.

Tahou competed in four events at the Clemson Invite during her season debut. She finished fifth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.55 seconds, which ranks fourth in Charleston Southern history. In the triple jump, she achieved a mark of 12.21 meters, placing her third on the school’s all-time list for that event. Tahou also ran as part of the 4x400m B team, which posted a time of 4:03.34, and set a personal best in the 60m dash at 7.73 seconds.

Katelyn Grate participated in her first collegiate meet at Clemson, running both the 200m and the 60m hurdles. She recorded a time of 25.56 seconds in the 200m and an 8.72-second finish in the hurdles, entering Charleston Southern’s top ten all-time performances for that event.

The team will return to competition next weekend for their second visit to Clemson this year at the Orange & Purple Invite, scheduled from Friday, January 23 through Saturday, January 24.
