The Charleston Southern women’s basketball team will play against Radford University in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Air Force Reserve Big South Basketball Championships. The game is scheduled for Thursday, March 5 at 6:00 p.m. and will be held at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+ or follow updates through the team’s official social media channels.

Charleston Southern finished its regular season with an overall record of 8-21 and a conference record of 6-10. Head Coach Clarisse White is aiming for her first win in the Big South tournament.

Tyonna Bailey has been recognized for her performance this season, earning a spot on the Big South All-Conference First-Team after averaging a league-best 20.1 points per game during conference play. “Bailey is the third player to earn First-Team honors under Coach White (Kennedi Jackson – 2024, Catherin Alben – 2025).” Senior Alba Garcia was named to the All-Academic team for the first time in her career.

Asha Sra led the conference with 121 assists and an average of 4.7 assists per game but did not receive All-Conference recognition. Caelan Ellis ranked third in three-pointers made with 76 and fourth in three-pointers per game at 2.6. As a team, Charleston Southern leads the Big South in three-pointers made per game (8.7), placing them 19th nationally.

During conference play, Bailey led all players with an average of 20.1 points per game and was also third in rebounding at 8.5 rebounds per game, which was the highest among guards. She also topped the conference in defensive rebounds per game at 6.9 and was “the only player in the league to rank in the top three in both scoring and rebounding during Big South competition.” Bailey received Big South Player of the Week honors twice this season (Jan. 5 and Feb. 2), recorded ten games with at least twenty points—including two thirty-point performances—and posted six double-doubles, all within conference play.

Radford enters as the number two seed with a record of 20-11 overall and a conference record of 12-4. Their head coach Mike McGuire was named Big South Co-Coach of the Year, while Georgia Simonsen earned Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-Conference honors. Joi Williamns was selected for All-Conference First-Team recognition, and Angelina Nice received All-Academic honors.

This matchup marks the first meeting between Charleston Southern and Radford in the Big South tournament since their semifinal encounter in Lynchburg, Virginia, back in 2017 when Radford secured a win over CSU.
