Charleston Southern lost to Ohio by a score of 4-1 on Saturday during the SpaceU Classic in Orlando, Florida.

Ohio scored two runs in the first inning with a two RBI single. Charleston Southern responded in the bottom of the first when Maddie Lee hit a single up the middle, allowing Jordyn Dimond to score and reducing Ohio’s lead to 2-1.

Ohio extended its lead in the second inning with an RBI triple and added another run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, making the final score 4-1.

Charleston Southern managed three hits during the game, with Dimond, Lee, and Emma Smith each contributing one. Riley Lauffer started as pitcher for Charleston Southern and pitched for 4.1 innings. Brenna Conley took over in the fifth inning and pitched 2.2 innings without giving up any runs, walking only one batter out of nine faced.

Charleston Southern is scheduled to play against Penn State at 9 a.m. and UCF at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Both games will be available live on ESPN+.
