Charleston Southern names Julia Abramo Rocha as new volleyball assistant coach

Charleston Southern University has added Julia Abramo Rocha as the new assistant coach for its women’s volleyball team. Rocha, originally from São Paulo, Brazil, was previously a graduate assistant at the University of Charleston in West Virginia. During her time with the Golden Eagles in 2025, she contributed to a 23–13 overall record and an 11–4 conference record, culminating in a Mountain East Conference championship. Rocha recently completed her MBA in Business Analytics at the end of her two years at UC.

Rocha’s playing career includes time as a setter at both the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and Otero College. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from UTRGV and represented the university on its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

In addition to Rocha’s appointment, Lena Pucnik has joined CSU Volleyball as a Graduate Assistant Coach this spring. Pucnik played collegiate volleyball at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. Over five seasons, she accumulated 1,493 kills, 1,414 digs, 157 service aces, and 152 total blocks.
