Charleston Southern softball falls to Indiana and Elon at weekend tournament

The Charleston Southern softball team ended its participation in the Elon/UNCG tournament on Saturday, suffering losses to Indiana and Elon. The Buccaneers were defeated 9-0 by Indiana and 8-0 by Elon.

In the first game against Indiana, Charleston Southern managed two hits in the opening inning. Harper Schoeneweis singled to the left side of the infield, followed by a base hit from Jordyn Dimond. After that, Indiana restricted further offensive chances for Charleston Southern.

Brenna Conley started as pitcher for the Bucs, pitching 1.2 innings and recording two strikeouts before Kinsey Clopton came in as relief for 3.1 innings.

In the second game versus Elon, Charleston Southern struggled to generate offense as Elon took an early lead and maintained control throughout. Conley made her second start of the day, pitching five innings with two strikeouts. Gianna Deluco relieved her and faced four batters to close out the contest.

Charleston Southern is scheduled to return home on Friday, March 6, when they will host Bowling Green at 4:00 p.m. The matchup will be broadcast on ESPN+. Fans interested in supporting Charleston Southern Athletics can do so through the Buc Club.
