Charleston Southern University’s women’s basketball team will host the Radford Highlanders on Saturday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Buccaneer Fieldhouse. The game marks the 27th contest of the season for Charleston Southern, who holds an overall record of 8-18 and a conference record of 6-7.
The Buccaneers are currently fifth in the Big South standings with three games left in the regular season. Their most recent outing was a road loss to High Point last Saturday.
Junior guard Tyonna Bailey remains a key player for Charleston Southern, having recorded her fifth double-double of the season against High Point with 12 points and 10 rebounds, as well as three steals. In conference play, Bailey leads the Big South in scoring with an average of 20.9 points per game and is second among guards in rebounding at 8.5 per game. She also ranks second in the league for twenty-point performances, having reached that mark seven times this season.
Caelan Ellis has scored in double figures in 21 games this year and leads Charleston Southern with an average of 2.6 made three-pointers per game.
Asha Sra continues to lead both the Big South and her team in assists, totaling 113 so far this season for an average of 4.5 assists per game.
Freshman Aïssé Coulibaly posted a career-high seven rebounds during her second collegiate start against High Point.
Charleston Southern averages 8.6 made three-pointers per game, which places them first among Big South teams and ranks them within the top thirty nationally.
The Buccaneers are aiming for their third consecutive win over Radford and their first regular-season sweep since 2010.
Radford enters Saturday’s matchup with a record of 17-11 overall and is tied for second place in conference play at 9-4 after losing at home to USC Upstate on Wednesday. Joi Williams leads Radford’s offense with an average of 13.5 points per game.
Earlier this season, Charleston Southern defeated Radford on the road by overcoming a seventeen-point deficit.
