The Charleston Southern women’s golf team finished third at the RiverTowne Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Rivertowne Country Club in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The event featured six teams competing on a par-72 course measuring 6,163 yards.

Eugenie Varet led Charleston Southern with her first collegiate individual championship. She opened with a round of 73, followed by a 71 in the second round and closed with a 72 to finish even par for the tournament. “Varet’s consistent play across all three days secured the individual title and paced CSU throughout the event,” according to the team.

Katie Stephens contributed to the team’s result by finishing seventh overall. She posted rounds of 80, 75, and 73 for a total score of 228, or 12-over par.

Chayse Cool tied for 13th place after shooting scores of 75, 82, and 76 for a total of 233 (17-over par). IY Ibnu tied for 15th with rounds of 77, 77, and 82 (236 total), while Summer Griffiths finished in 31st place after posting scores of 91, 83, and 86 (260 total).

Charleston Southern recorded team rounds of 305 in both the first and second rounds before improving slightly to a final-round score of 303. The performance secured third place in the field.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to compete next at the Battle at the Beach tournament this weekend in Pawley’s Island.
