Charleston Southern women’s golf wins Battle at the Beach tournament

The Charleston Southern women’s golf team won the Battle at the Beach tournament, which took place at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club and was hosted by Stonehill College. The Buccaneers finished first among 13 teams, recording a two-round total of 603 (+27).

Katie Stephens led the team with a standout performance, securing her second collegiate individual title and her second win of the 2025-26 season. Stephens shot an opening round of 69 and followed with a 72 to finish at 141 (-3), making her the only player in the field to finish under par.

Eugenie Varet finished third overall with rounds of 75 and 76 for a total score of 151 (+7). Chayse Cool also contributed to the team’s success by tying for seventh after shooting rounds of 76 and 80, ending with a score of 156 (+12). Summer Griffiths and IY Ibnu both tied for 14th place, each posting scores of 160 (+16) over two rounds.

Charleston Southern opened with a team score of 295 in the first round and closed with a 308 in the final round to secure their victory. This win marks their second team title of the season, following their earlier victory at the Fripp Island Intercollegiate in November.
