Charleston Southern women’s tennis and Skegro receive top Big South preseason honors

Charleston Southern University’s women’s tennis team and senior player Marina Skegro have received top recognition in the Big South Conference’s preseason honors. The conference announced Thursday that Skegro was chosen as the Preseason Player of the Year for the upcoming 2026 spring season. In addition, Charleston Southern was named the unanimous first-place team in the league’s Preseason Poll.

The Buccaneers, who are defending conference champions, will open their spring season on Saturday, January 17. They are set to play against the Florida Gators at home at CSU’s Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center, with matches beginning at 1:00 PM.
