Charleston swept the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Golf awards, according to a May 1 announcement, with Molly Hardwick named Golfer of the Year, Carys Fennessy selected as Rookie of the Year, and Jamie Futrell recognized as Coach of the Year. The honors were determined by votes from league coaches.
These awards highlight a successful season for Charleston’s women’s golf program. The recognition reflects both individual excellence and strong team leadership throughout the year.
Hardwick earned her first CAA Golfer of the Year award after finishing as the league’s top-ranked golfer at No. 101 in Clipp’d rankings. She claimed medalist honors at the Edisto Island Invitational in October and was named Women’s Golfer of the Week four times during the season. Hardwick, a senior from Nashville, Tennessee, also achieved five top-10 finishes this year, including sixth place at the 2026 CAA Women’s Golf Championship.
Fennessy received unanimous selection for Rookie of the Year following her first season with Charleston. The freshman ranked first among freshmen and third overall in CAA standings after three top-five finishes and placed fourth at last week’s conference tournament.
Head Coach Jamie Futrell was honored as Coach of the Year for a seventh time and second consecutive year. Under his guidance, Charleston secured its fourth conference title in five years—raising their total to seven—and produced two All-CAA First Team honorees alongside major award winners Hardwick and Fennessy. Adrian Anderson and Emilie von Finckenstein were also recognized on Second Team All-CAA; Anderson finished ninth in Clipp’d standings with three top-ten results this season while von Finckenstein led Charleston with a third-place finish at this year’s championship.
The Cougars will continue their postseason by competing at the NCAA Louisville Regional from May 11 to May 13 at University of Louisville Golf Course.
