The City of Charleston is organizing a community breakfast and neighborhood litter cleanup at Mulberry Park on Saturday, October 25, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The event, which is open to residents, families, and city staff, aims to foster community engagement and maintain neighborhood cleanliness.
This event will also mark the end of the 2025 Love Your Block grant cycle, a project supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies in the Ardmore-Sherwood Forest Neighborhood. Love Your Block is a national initiative that encourages residents to work with city leaders to address neighborhood issues and improve quality of life.
City officials and departments participating in the event include Mayor Cogswell, Economic & Neighborhood Services, Keep Charleston Beautiful, the Charleston Police Department, the Charleston Fire Department, and Livability and Tourism.
The event is open to all ages and offers an opportunity for children to earn volunteer hours. Residents interested in joining can register online at https://tinyurl.com/m2c4hfk8.
“These quarterly cleanups bring residents and City staff together to strengthen community connections, promote neighborhood pride, and keep Charleston beautiful. It’s also a great opportunity for kids to earn volunteer hours,” according to the event announcement.
