The Citadel men’s basketball team will end its regular season with a road game against Wofford on Saturday at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The matchup is set for 2:00 p.m. ET and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
The Citadel, currently holding a 9–21 overall record and 6–11 in the Southern Conference (SoCon), comes into the game after a 72–51 loss to Furman. In that contest, Braxton Williams led the Bulldogs with 25 points, marking his ninth game this season scoring at least 20 points.
In their previous meeting this season on January 3 in Charleston, The Citadel lost to Wofford by a score of 95–86. Christian Moore and Williams each scored 20 points in that game, while Carter Kingsbury contributed 16 points and six assists. Despite shooting over 53 percent from the field and making half of their three-point attempts, The Citadel could not overcome Wofford’s performance from beyond the arc and free-throw line.
For the season, Williams leads The Citadel with an average of 14.3 points per game and shoots nearly 40 percent from the field. Moore averages 11.4 points per contest and has made a team-high 59 three-pointers at almost a 39 percent success rate. Sola Adebisi leads the Bulldogs in rebounds (5.9 per game), blocks (30), and steals (31). Eze Wali has provided a team-best 68 assists so far.
As a unit, The Citadel averages just under 69 points per game while shooting slightly above 41 percent from the field and making about nine three-pointers per contest.
Wofford enters Saturday’s matchup with a record of 19–11 overall and an 11–6 mark in conference play after defeating ETSU on February 25 by three points. This season, Wofford averages nearly 79 points per game while shooting over 45 percent from the floor and almost 35 percent from three-point range.
Kahmare Holmes is Wofford’s leading scorer at just over 19 points per game, followed by Nils Machowski with more than 16 points per outing. Cayden Vasko contributes over ten points per contest and leads his team in assists with a total of 119.
