The Citadel baseball team will play its first midweek game of the season against Georgia Southern on March 4 at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park in Charleston, South Carolina. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Right-handed pitcher Riley Ballard (1-0, 4.15 ERA) is expected to start for The Citadel, while left-hander Janse Kenty (0-0, 7.88 ERA) is likely to take the mound for Georgia Southern.
Weather forecasts predict a high of 73°F and a low of 55°F for Wednesday night with light winds from the south-southeast.

Georgia Southern leads the all-time series between these teams with a record of 52 wins to The Citadel’s 39. Their last meeting was on April 23, 2019, when Georgia Southern won 5-3.
This season, Georgia Southern has a record of two wins and nine losses but recently won a series against USC Upstate. The team holds a .253 batting average with six home runs and has scored fifty runs over eleven games. During their recent three-game series against Florida State, The Citadel’s pitchers gave up only five earned runs in total; starting pitchers allowed just two earned runs over nearly thirteen innings combined.
Following this matchup, The Citadel will travel to Lexington for a three-game series versus No. 21 Kentucky from March 6–8.
