City of Charleston announces changes to holiday office hours and municipal services

City of Charleston officials have announced changes to office hours, trash collection, and recreation facility schedules in observance of the Christmas holiday.

All city offices will close at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 24. Offices will remain closed through Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26.

Garbage and trash collection by city crews will follow a normal schedule through Wednesday, December 24. There will be no collection on Thursday, December 25. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, December 26.

For Trident Waste customers in Johns Island and Outer West Ashley, regular collection will continue through Wednesday, December 24. No service is scheduled for Thursday, December 25. Thursday routes will be picked up on Friday, December 26 and Friday routes on Saturday, December 27. Trident Waste service for Daniel Island and Cainhoy will not change during the week.

All city recreation facilities are set to close on Thursday and Friday, reopening Saturday, December 27 for tennis centers and the MLK Pool.

The Municipal Golf Course clubhouse and driving range will open from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Christmas Eve (December 24), with tee times available from 7:00 AM until noon for walking only. The bar & grill will remain closed that day. The course itself will be closed all day on Christmas Day (December 25).
