City of Charleston offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

All city recreation facilities, including pools and tennis centers, will also be closed for the holiday. However, the Municipal Golf Course (The Muni) will remain open with regular hours.

Garbage and trash collection by City of Charleston crews will operate on a one-day delay during the week. Routes normally serviced on Monday will move to Tuesday; Tuesday routes to Wednesday; Wednesday routes to Thursday; and Thursday routes to Friday.

Trident Waste services for Johns Island and Outer West Ashley, as well as Daniel Island and Cainhoy, will continue on their normal schedules.

All city offices are scheduled to reopen after the holiday.
