City of Charleston announces New Year’s holiday schedule changes for offices and services

City of Charleston offices and services will adjust their schedules for the New Year’s holiday. City offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, and Friday, January 2.

Garbage and trash collection by city crews will operate as usual from Monday through Wednesday. There will be no collection on Thursday, January 1. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, January 2.

For residents serviced by Trident Waste in Johns Island and Outer West Ashley, normal collection is scheduled for Monday through Wednesday. There will be no service on Thursday, January 1. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, January 2, and Friday routes will be collected on Saturday, January 3.

Trident Waste customers in Daniel Island and Cainhoy will have regular collection all week.

All recreation facilities, including pools and tennis centers, will close on Thursday, January 1, and Friday, January 2. These facilities will reopen with normal hours on Saturday, January 3.

The municipal golf course will remain open with normal operating hours throughout the week.
