All City of Charleston offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. The city announced adjustments to its public service and recreation schedules for the holiday.

For residents living in Peninsula, Inner West Ashley, and James Island (serviced by city crews), there will be no garbage collection on Veterans Day. Collections usually scheduled for Tuesday will occur on Wednesday instead. This one-day delay will affect routes through the rest of the week as well, with each subsequent day’s route moving to the following day.

On Johns Island and Outer West Ashley, as well as Daniel Island and Cainhoy—areas serviced by Trident Waste—garbage collection will continue as usual without any schedule changes.

Regarding recreation services, all tennis centers, recreation facilities, and programs except for the Municipal Golf Course will be closed on Veterans Day. The Municipal Golf Course will remain open during regular hours.

City officials emphasized that “All City Offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11.”

The announcement serves to remind residents about the adjusted schedules for city services due to the federal holiday honoring military veterans.
