The College of Charleston has appointed Brennan Ramsey as Assistant Director of Operations (Graduate Manager) for its baseball program. Head coach Chad Holbrook announced the addition, noting that Ramsey will work closely with General Manager Sam Gjormand on equipment, travel, and operations, and will oversee student managers. Ramsey’s responsibilities will also include advanced scouting of opponents and other baseball-related duties.

“Brennan is a great addition to our staff,” said Holbrook. “He has great experience at the highest level, and he will be an incredible asset to Sam and our coaching staff in the day-to-day operation of our baseball program. Our players will also benefit from his tireless work ethic and his team first attitude. We are thrilled to have him!”

Ramsey comes to Charleston after more than three seasons as a student manager and undergraduate assistant with sports turf at South Carolina. His previous role included managing equipment and laundry, setting up and breaking down the field, and assisting the pitching coach as bullpen liaison. During his tenure with the Gamecocks, he contributed to a 4.19 ERA in 2023—when South Carolina reached the NCAA Super Regional—and a 5.05 ERA in 2024 along with an NCAA Regional appearance.

Reflecting on his new position, Ramsey said: “I am excited to be in Charleston and continue working in baseball. I am extremely grateful to Coach Holbrook and Sam for giving me this opportunity and am ready to help the Cougars in any way I can!”

In addition to his work with South Carolina’s baseball program, Ramsey was involved with maintaining practice facility fields, preparing Ray Tanner Field at Founder’s Park for games, handling landscaping tasks, pulling field goal nets on game days, and managing setup logistics.

Charleston is set to begin its 2026 season on February 13 at Patriots Point against Rutgers. Season tickets for all 31 home games are available for $175 through cofcsports.com/tickets or by contacting the ticket office at (843) 953-2632 or athleticstickets@cofc.edu.
