The College of Charleston women’s golf team is set to host the Daniel Island Invitational at the Daniel Island Club from March 2 to March 3. The tournament will feature a field of 15 teams, including eight ranked among the top 100 in the latest NCAA Clippd rankings. These teams are NC State (46), Charleston (52), High Point (71), Xavier (80), Furman (82), Charlotte (83), Western Kentucky (88), and East Carolina (96).

The Daniel Island Club, which opened in 2001, has established itself as a leading golf venue in the Lowcountry. It offers two championship courses: Beresford Creek, designed by Tom Fazio, and Ralston Creek, designed by Rees Jones. The club has previously hosted professional events such as the Nationwide Tour Championship from 2009 to 2011.

Charleston enters the invitational following a top ten finish at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational. Molly Hardwick led her team with a tie for 12th place after an even-par round that included a bogey-free back nine. Her performance earned her CAA Golfer of the Week honors. Junior Emilie von Finckenstein also contributed with a tie for 19th place, highlighted by four birdies during Tuesday’s round.

For Monday’s opening round, Charleston will compete alongside NC State and East Carolina.

The tournament will be played on the Ralston Creek course at Daniel Island Club. The format consists of 54 holes: Monday’s play begins with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start for 36 holes, followed by an additional 18 holes on Tuesday starting at 9:00 a.m., also with a shotgun start. The course is set up as par-72 over 6,166 yards.

Live scoring for the event will be available online at https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/238738/scoring/participants.

Participating teams include College of Charleston, NC State, Furman, Georgetown, Delaware, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Western Kentucky, High Point, Charlotte, Oral Roberts, Xavier, James Madison, Elon, and Charleston Southern.

Charleston’s lineup features Molly Hardwick, Emilie von Finckenstein, Carys Fennessy, Adrian Anderson, Emilia von Glahn; individual competitors Taylor Sieg and Raegan Propes are also entered.
