College of Charleston graduate student Jlynn Counter has been named the CAA Co-Player of the Week after leading his team to victories over Hofstra and Northeastern. This marks the third time this season that Counter has received this weekly honor.

During the Cougars’ two wins, Counter averaged 25 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. He recorded double-doubles in both contests. Against Hofstra, he scored 22 points—20 of which came in the second half—along with 10 rebounds and five assists in a narrow 66-64 road win.

In the following game against Northeastern, Counter tallied 28 points and set a career high with 11 assists, while also adding three rebounds. His assist total was tied for third-most in a single game in program history. Charleston finished the game on a decisive 13-2 run, with all 13 points scored by Counter to secure an 89-84 victory.

The Cougars are scheduled to play their next home game against North Carolina A&T on Thursday, February 5 at TD Arena, starting at 7:00 p.m.

“Counter averaged 25.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 8.0 apg in the Cougars’ 2-0 week,” according to the College of Charleston announcement.
