Nebraska defeats Charleston Southern in women’s tennis dual

On February 22, the Charleston Southern University (CSU) women’s tennis team faced the University of Nebraska in a dual match held in Charleston. Nebraska emerged with a 4-0 victory, winning all three completed singles matches in straight sets.

In singles play, Maria Taranova defeated Marina Skegro 6-1, 6-1. Tiziana Rossini won against Amike Botha 6-0, 6-4, and Reya Lee Coe secured a win over Carle Botha with a score of 6-2, 6-1. Other singles matches were left unfinished but showed Nebraska leading.

In doubles competition, Nebraska’s pairs Rizzetto/Rossini and Miyoshi/Coe each claimed victories over their CSU counterparts with identical scores of 6-3. The third doubles match was unfinished with Spencer/Gagnon leading Yoris/Molina 5-4.

The next scheduled matches for CSU will be at home against Coastal Carolina on Tuesday, February 24 at 1:00 PM and an away match at Georgia Southern on February 28 at 1:30 PM.
