Nighttime lane closures planned for Ashley River Bridge construction

The City of Charleston has announced that nighttime lane closures will be implemented for the Ashley River Crossing bridge construction. The closures are being coordinated with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and Mastec-Civil.

According to the city, MasTec will close US 17 Northbound starting near the intersection of Albemarle Road. The closure will extend approximately half a mile north and end near the exit ramp to Lockwood Blvd. This work is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 9:00 pm and continue through Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6:00 am.

The city advises drivers to use extreme caution when traveling through this area during the construction period.
