Nighttime lane closures are scheduled for August 27, 2025, as part of the Ashley River Crossing bridge construction project in Charleston. The City of Charleston is working with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and Mastec-Civil on this effort.

According to city officials, MasTec will close US 17 Northbound starting near the intersection of Albemarle Road. The closure will extend for about half a mile north and end near the exit ramp to Lockwood Blvd. The closure will begin at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27th, and continue until 6:00 am on Thursday, August 28th.

“Please use extreme caution when traveling through this area of the work zone,” city officials said.

The nighttime closures are intended to support ongoing construction activities for the new bridge crossing over the Ashley River.
