81 percent of applicants to Citadel Military College of South Carolina were admitted for fall 2018

At Citadel Military College of South Carolina, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 89 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Charleston enrolled 3,763 students in fall 2018, including 2,911 in undergraduate and 852 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

54 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Carolina, and 45 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (75 percent) and Black or African American (9 percent).

The school admitted 81 percent of the 2,672 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 33 percent enrolled.
