Pit master extraordinaire and Charleston restaurant owner, Rodney Scott, has published his new book "Rodney Scott’s World of BBQ: Recipes and Perspectives From the Legendary Pitmaster."
Rodney Scott owns the restaurant Whole Hog BBQ in Charleston, according to the restaurant's website.
"If this doesn’t make you hungry, nothing will. Congrats @PitmasterRS," said CEO of Charlestown International Airport Elliott Summey in a Twitter post.
Scott opened his restaurant in 2017 with a focus on taking the time to make great barbecue, says his website biography page.
He won the prestigious James Beard Award in 2018, said the award's website.
The goal of the award is to "celebrate, support, and elevate the people behind America’s food culture and champion a standard of good food anchored in talent, equity, and sustainability," said the award's website.
Actress Bette Midler was celebrating the new book on Twitter.
"Just exactly what we need right now! Get it!!" Midler said in a Twitter post.
Scott's book offers unique anecdotes from his personal experiences as well as mouthwatering recipes from his kitchen, said his website.
