South Carolina won the match against North Carolina at 79-42.

"When you approach every game like that, you set yourself up to have a perfect night," said Head Coach Dawn Staley.

Aliyah Boston scored a career-high 29 points on 13-of-13 shooting and powered No. 1 South Carolina to a 79-42 victory over North Carolina A&T.

"Aliyah is probably one of the hardest-working players that I've ever been around," Staley said.

Aliyah Boston set the record for the program of most baskets made without a miss (minute 0.45). She also grabbed 14 rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Her performance showed that she is a two-time Lisa Leslie Award winner for a reason. Boston left the game smiling because her teammates had joked that she herself had scored about half of SC's points so far.

"Aliyah's, obviously, extremely talented, but it's really hard to game plan for them," Aggies coach Tarrell Robinson said. "She benefits off that because she has such a high motor."

On facing the top-ranked Gamecocks, Robinson said, "We are excited about the opportunity to compete against the No. 1 team in the country. As promised to the young women currently on our roster during the recruiting process, we will play against the best and always put ourselves in the position to compete for championships by doing so. This is another opportunity for growth and a chance to exceed expectations. We hope to be in a similar situation at the end of March."

The Gamecocks improved to 8-0 for the first time since the 2015-2016 season.
