 Burning River Brass

Grammy Award-winning musician/producer and world-renowned drummer Quentin E. Baxter returns in presenting a fantastic three-concert jazz series. 

The first concert of the series will feature award-winning bassist and vocalist Nicki Parrott. Accompanying Parrott for the concert will be pianist Kevin Bales and drummer Quentin E. Baxter.

The second concert of the series will feature pianist Louis Heriveaux with special guest vocalist Karlea Lynne. Accompanying Heriveaux for the concert will be guitarist Rod Harris, Jr, bassist Rodney Jordan, and drummer Quentin E. Baxter.

The third concert of the series will feature award-winning cellist and vocalist Shana Tucker. Accompanying Tucker for the concert will be pianist Christian Tamburr, bassist Billy Thornton, and drummer Al Sergel. 

Tickets will go fast, so don't delay.

Join us for a screening of Midnight in Paris, a 2011 feature film starring Owen Wilson. The film follows Gil, a nostalgic screenwriter who mysteriously finds himself traveling back to 1920s Paris.

Not meant to be concerts, Piano Bars are to enjoy with friends and offer an opportunity to meet neighbors outside your circle for some island socializing. Bring your beverage of choice and a snack to “tide” you over. The Sandcastle will be the happening place at 5 p.m. (island time).

Patrons will notice a new ticketing interface this season. All tickets will continue to be available online only. With the new system, patrons can create a member account or checkout without creating an account. Review our ticket policies hereAll events are open to the public, but Kiawah property owners have a 3-day lead time on tickets for certain events. If an event has only one release date listed, then early access is not available for that event. 

Season Reminders

Please review the following information: 

  • Safety Precautions - Events will have reduced capacity, masks available, and sanitation stations. We will continue to evaluate this policy as the season progresses. The CDC recommends audience members be fully vaccinated before considering attending large-scale events. Out of respect for our patrons and performers, we recommend masks for all those in attendance. 

  • Staffing - Patrons can expect to see some new, friendly faces at our events! This season, we will be contracting professional event staff to provide ticket scanning and support to our resident volunteers.

  • Ticketing & Kiawah Property Owner Early Access - Patrons will notice a new ticketing interface this season. All tickets will continue to be available online only. With the new system, patrons can create a member account or checkout without creating an account. Property owners within the Town of Kiawah Island municipal boundaries are eligible for a 3-day lead time on tickets to select events. Property owners who previously registered for early access tickets should have received their 2021-2022 season access code. If you would like to register or did not receive your code, email your name and Kiawah Island address to Stephanie Braswell at sbraswell@kiawahisland.org

The Town of Kiawah Arts & Cultural Events Council works to enhance community appreciation and involvement in the visual and performing arts with the Town of Kiawah Island and its environs by providing a diversity of planned programs. Tickets are available on a first-come first-serve basis online at our website here or at Town Hall 843-768-9166. All events are open to the public. Kiawah property owners have a 3-day lead time on tickets for Arts Council events. Cultural Events only have one ticket release date.
