Census Bureau: More women than men in Charleston County in 2020

Of the 407,543 people living in Charleston County in 2020, 51.6 percent (210,338) were women and 48.4 percent (197,205) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Charleston Reporter.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 6,685. In the 65 and over age range, there were 37,340 females and 29,419 males.
