Mount Pleasant, S.C. (October 5, 2022) - Owner Joanna Alexander, joined by Councilmembers Laura Hyatt, Howard Chapman, P.E., and John Iacofano, partnering with Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce Director Rebecca Imholz with other Chamber members, celebrated the grand opening of Local Jo's Natural Foods with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new business is located at 1440 Ben Sawyer Blvd #1103.
Local Jo's Natural Foods is a family-owned independent grocer who supports local farmers and producers. They carry over 25 local brands. All food and other products received are vetted to meet high-quality standards. Products must be nutritionally dense, minimally processed, animal welfare approved, and environmentally conscious before being placed for sale in the store.
Due to carrying food items from small farms and small-batch food producers, some of their selections would be harder to find at a typical big-box grocery store. Joanna also procures natural-ingredient and cruelty-free cosmetics, toiletry items, and feminine products. Environmentally friendly cleaning products can also be found in stock.
