Town Performs Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Ruby's New York Style Bagels

Mount Pleasant, S.C. (November 30, 2022) - Owners Kevin and Gail Roach and Joe and Denise Harvey, joined by Councilman John Iacofano and Councilman Howard Chapman, P.E., partnering with Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce Director Rebecca Imholz and fellow Chamber members, celebrated the grand opening of Ruby's New York Style Bagels with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new business is located at 280 West Coleman Blvd.

Before coming up with the idea for Ruby's Bagels, Kevin and Gail returned from a family visit to Connecticut with a suitcase full of New York bagels. They quickly realized that a better bagel was needed in Mount Pleasant, a locale with a vibrant food scene. After several recipe attempts with different doughs, fermentation processes, water alkalinity, and feedback from locals who were self-proclaimed bagel lovers, they landed the perfect combination. Their initial small neighborhood bagel delivery businesses quickly grew into a brand new retail location with the help of their long-time friends Joe and Denise, who own several coffee shops in the northeast.

Ruby's New York Style Bagels offers a taste of Brooklyn to the Lowcountry. A variety of coffee and espresso drinks, smoothies, bagels, cream cheeses, sandwiches, salads, avocado toasts, and waffles are available. The bagels are made fresh with all-natural ingredients and are baked without shortcuts or compromises.
