Mayor John Tecklenburg | City of Charleston
This summer, the city of Charleston will host its third annual Virtual Summer Workshop Series on financial management for high school and college-aged students, and young adults from 10 to 11 a.m. each Thursday beginning July 13 and running through August 3.
The free workshop, featuring financial experts from the Bank On Charleston coalition, is designed to teach attendees how to better budget and save, what credit is and how to build it, and how to manage money as an entrepreneur.
Each session will be recorded and made available to attendees.
Attendees of each session will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle for a $100 gift card.
“Money management is one of the most important skills we can teach our youth and young adults, and we’re excited to partner with Bank On Charleston to make that possible,” said Mindy Sturm, director of the Mayor’s Office for Children, Youth and Families. “This is a free, easily accessible opportunity for attendees to gain a deeper understanding of their finances, and we look forward to getting started.”
