Charleston honors local businesses and leaders at annual awards ceremony

The Charleston region came together on May 28, 2024, to celebrate its business community's exceptional contributions at the 2024 Honors, presented by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. This annual event acknowledges individuals and organizations whose outstanding work has significantly advanced the region. Honorees were recognized across various categories, including Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year, Innovator of the Year, Community Impact Champion, Diversity Champion of the Year, and One to Watch. These awards highlight diverse efforts that drive Charleston’s economic growth.

A special highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award to Bernie Mazyck, President & CEO of the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development. This award celebrates his leadership and dedication to fostering economic development and community well-being throughout the state.
